Featuring dual, in camera double-exposed, landscapes, this piece allows you to gaze forever and always see something new. Hand applied cyanotype photograph, a process created before the Civil War!
Coping is an exploration of those moments when we want to be anywhere but where we are. Using canvas, cyanotype photographs are created and then adorned with various bits of metal and found ephemera. The composition is ultimately supposed to create a daydream-like moment of longing, and an ultimately hopeful view of making it through such darkness.
Cyanotype is a hand applied photographic process from before the Civil War! This beautiful blue pigment is created once these light sensitive chemicals are mixed and applied to the canvas. Once dried, the canvas is layered with a negative and exposed to UV light!
